Reading through the Bible: day 60

Numbers 28 – 30

Sorry I missed last night, I had read it, but was tired and I’ve been struggling with some issues lately and didn’t want to give you inferior stuff.

Unfortunately, even having a day to think about this, there’s not much to say on these texts. The bulk is sacrifice instructions for each festival. I’ll have to cover the new moom sacrifice at a later date, but for now, it all seems fairly straight forward.

The laws concerning vows are interesting. Women are only bound by there vows if they aren’t overruled by her patriarch. The point is vows are very important and should be taken seriously. This is Old Testament so don’t go rushing off making vows, Jesus has stuff to say about it.

As I said, not much to say here, so any thoughts from readers will be appreciated.

Please give the reading through the Bible page a look if you haven’t already, there are some background posts and the index to this reading plan. Share it with others who you think can benefit from Reading the Bible.
